This simply means that you have to upgrade the software of your laptop and in case of not doing so, support from the company will stop.
Microsoft is completely ending support for its old software version from October 14, 2025 this year and users are being informed about this. The company is sending emails to its users informing them about the retirement of Windows 10 and they have been asked to upgrade the software or device. Let us tell you, the company has already given Windows 11 update to its eligible users.
What does Windows 10 retire mean?
Retiring old software simply means that the company no longer wants to spend more resources on its development and now users will not get many updates. Laptops or PCs running on Windows 10 will continue to work as before but now users will not get any security updates, new features and technical support from the company.
In such a situation, the risk of malware or virus attack on your device increases. Also, existing bugs and flaws will no longer be fixed and due to lack of new features, you will not be given access to the latest tools and functions. The final version of Windows 10 is 22H2, although the company can provide extended security updates in case of any major flaw or problem.
What should you do in such a situation?
If your laptop or computer is working on Windows 10, then first go to the System Updates section and download the latest software. If your device is eligible, you will be able to easily upgrade to Windows 11 from here. However, if you do not get this option, you will have to use the old version or you can buy a new laptop.
