Let us tell you that the Election Commission has directed that they make all efforts to link the Aadhaar number with the election card. According to the information received by Hindustan Times, according to a note sent to the Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of all states and union territories, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has directed the officials to link the Aadhaar number with the election card.
Let us tell you that the Election Commission has already tried to link the voter ID with Aadhaar. In 2015, the Election Commission ran the National Voter List Purification Program (NERPAP) from March 2015 to August 2015. At that time, the Election Commission had completed the process of linking more than 30 crore voter IDs with Aadhaar. The purpose of this step is to remove fake voters from the voting list:

Link Voter ID and Aadhaar using the App
Step 1: For this, first download the Voter Helpline app. This app can be downloaded from Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS).
Step 2: After opening the app, login with your Voter ID details (EPIC Number). If you do not already have an account, you will have to create a new account by filling in your personal information (such as name, email, etc.).
Step 3: After logging in, search for the option of “Link Aadhaar” or “Aadhaar Linking” on the home screen of the app and click on it.
Step 4: Here you have to enter your Aadhaar card number. Apart from this, the app may ask you to fill in information like your name and date of birth.
Step 5: As soon as you enter the Aadhaar card details, the app will send an OTP to the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar. You have to enter that OTP in the app.
Step 6: After verification of the OTP, you will get a confirmation message that your Voter ID has been successfully linked to Aadhaar.
How to link Voter ID to Aadhaar from the website
Step 1: First of all, go to the Electoral Roll Search or National Voter’s Service Portal (NVSP) website. Or download the Voter Helpline app from Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Step 2: After this login to the official website. If you do not already have an account, then you have to create a new account. For this you have to fill in your personal information (like name, email etc.). If you already have an account, you can login by clicking on the “Login” option.
Step 3: Now choose the option to update/link voter ID. After logging in, choose the option of “Link Aadhaar” or “Update Aadhaar Details”.
Step 4: After this, enter your Aadhaar card number (Aadhaar Number). Then, fill in other information related to Aadhaar (such as name, date of birth, etc.). Now fill the captcha code given on the website correctly and click on “Submit”.
Step 5: After this, to link the Aadhaar number, you will get an OTP (One Time Password), which will be sent to the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar. After receiving the OTP, enter it in the website and click on “Verify”.
Step 6: After this, if all your details are correct, then you will get a (confirmation) message that your voter ID has been successfully linked to the Aadhaar card.
