Cooperative Banks Update: Welfare steps are being taken continuously by the government for the people of the country. Under this, now the customers of cooperative banks will get the benefit of all the schemes of the government. For this, there is a plan to connect cooperative banks with Direct Bank Transfer (DBT). Recently, Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said this while addressing a program through video conferencing.
At present
, the benefits of 300 schemes run by 52 ministries of the government are being passed on to the beneficiaries through DBT. Now the customers of cooperative banks will get the benefit of all these schemes. The Union Minister said that there has been a lot of improvement in the banking sector than before. Due to this the citizens of the country are getting the benefit of banking services.

he said, due to Jan Dhan Yojana, bank accounts of 450 million new people have also been opened. Similarly, 32 crore people have also got the benefit of Rupay debit card. All this has happened because of PM Modi’s ‘Sankalp to Prosperity from Cooperation’. The Cooperation Minister said that the cooperative sector will play an important role in the prosperity and economic upliftment of the country. Digital transactions of crores of new accounts opened under PM Jan Dhan Yojana have crossed one trillion dollars. In comparison to the digital transactions of the year 2017-18, there has been an increase of 50 times.
On the other hand, Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated
the new office of the Ministry of Cooperation at CGO Complex on Thursday. The cooperative ministry, set up in July last year, was functioning from Krishi Bhavan in the national capital. Shah is the first minister in the Ministry of Cooperation. At the same time, BL Verma is the Minister of State. Announcing the creation of the ministry, the government had said that the new ministry would work to streamline processes for ‘ease of doing business’ for cooperatives and enable the development of multi-state cooperative societies (MSCS).
Amit Shah said that the agriculture bank has proved itself on all the parameters set by RBI and NABARD for banking . Earlier, loans were available from the bank at an interest of 12 to 15 percent, which has now come down to 10 percent. Not only this, a concession of 2 percent is also given to the beneficiaries who repay the loan on time.
