Also as per the Aadhaar Act 2016, the Aadhaar card can be authenticated in physical or electronic form or offline verification. The verification is done through fingerprint, iris scan, OTP authentication and QR code etc.

In fact, Aadhaar is more secure than many other identity documents, as unlike other IDs, Aadhaar can be verified instantly through biometric and OTP authentication and QR codes. Apart from this, under the Aadhaar Act, 2016, whenever any person misuses your Aadhaar number or tries to cause you any harm, there is a provision for harsh punishment including fine and imprisonment.
