An important news related to Driving License has come to the fore. The Transport Department is giving the last chance to those who have old driving license (Old DL) to get online registration done.
The Transport Department has asked the DTOs of all the districts of the country to make the handwritten DL online as soon as possible. The department says that the provision of backlock entry will be available only till March 12 on the Sarathi web portal of the Government of India. Therefore, from March 12 onwards, backlock entry of driving licenses with handwritten issued licenses cannot be done.
Let us tell you that after the instructions of the Government of India, those driving license holders, whose DL is issued in booklet or hand writing or is like a form or booklet, all of them will also be made online now.
It will be mandatory for such people to make an online entry with the original license in the district transport offices of the states by 4 pm on March 12. The Transport Department has issued an order in this regard to all the RTOs of the state.
What will happen to the handwritten DL now?
Please tell that there is a lot of problem in keeping handwritten DL. There is always a fear of them getting wet, bursting or getting damaged. However, the risk of damage to the chip card is almost negligible.
Also, during license checking, doubts regarding such DLs will also get rid of. After going online, complete information of DL will be available on Sarathi web portal, which can be seen by anyone anywhere.
Common people are getting many concessions during the Corona period. In this sequence, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has also repeatedly extended the date for many works related to RTO including driving license, registration certificate, permit, but now such exemption is being abolished.
In such a situation, in today’s date, linking of DL with Aadhaar has become an important task. Therefore, by having DL online, all the information will be easily available. Therefore, the Transport Department has also issued an order to link the driving license and Aadhar card.
