Passport Seva Program: The government has greatly simplified the rules for getting a passport. Due to these rules, now getting a passport has become very easy. You can apply for passport sitting at home. You can schedule a visit to the Passport Office. In this way, now after a very minor process, the passport gets ready and comes to your home.

Now people will soon get freedom from carrying passport with them. The government is soon going to start e-passport service in the country. Recently, Ministry of External Affairs Secretary Sanjay Bhattacharya said in a tweet that Indian citizens are likely to get e-passports soon.

E-passport will be more secure With the
arrival of e-passport, the hassle of lost, burnt or misplaced passport will also get rid of. E-passport will be more secure and convenient than paper passport. At present, India’s passport is in the form of a booklet. The Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs says that e-passports will be secured with biometric data and will meet the requirements of immigration globally.

The government says that e-passport will also curb counterfeiting and help in faster immigration for passengers. The Ministry of External Affairs says that the e-passport will comply with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

How will it be
on the basis of the e-passport trial, the Ministry of External Affairs has issued e-passports to about 20,000 officials and diplomats. An electronic microprocessor chip is embedded in the e-passport. The internationally recognized logo for the chip e-passport will be displayed next to the passport.

The Ministry of External Affairs has entered into an agreement with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for e-passport. Under the second phase of the Passport Seva Program, this agreement has been signed for e-passports fitted with microchip.

Documents
required to make a passport Usually only three documents are required to make a passport, but along with these three documents, you have to give many more documents. These are necessary – existing proof of residence, proof of date of birth and documents for non-ECR category.

For address proof, you can give water bill, telephone or mobile phone bill, electricity bill, ID-card, gas connection, Aadhar card, rent agreement, bank passbook etc.

555 Passport Kendras across the Country India currently has a network of 555 Passport Kendras which includes 36 Passport Offices, 93 Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) and 426 Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSK).
