This is good news for pensioners. Now they can submit their life certificate online at any time of the year . Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has announced this. Earlier this facility was not available. The life certificate had to be submitted before a certain time, otherwise there was a possibility of stopping the pension. In a tweet, EPFO ​​has given information about submission of life certificate online. In the tweet, EPFO ​​has written that pensioners can now submit their life certificate at any time of the year, which will be valid for 1 year from the date of submission.

Keeping in mind the facilities of the pensioner, EPFO ​​has started Digital Life Certificate. There is no need to go to the bank or pension agency for this. Pensioners can submit it online from anywhere. The mode in which the life certificate is submitted offline or online is equally valid.

What did EPFO ​​say?

EPFO has given every information in its tweet, which facilitates the pensioner to submit life certificate. According to the EPFO, pensioners can digitally deposit their life certificates in the pension issuing bank, Common Service Centre, India Post Payment Bank, Post Office, Postman, UMANG App and the nearest EPFO ​​office.

If pensioners cannot go themselves, then they can take the facility of doorstep service. In this facility of post office, the postman or postman comes to the pensioner’s house and submits the life certificate. Apart from the post office, this facility is also available in the bank. You have to apply for this service first.

To submit life certificate online, the applicant must have PPO number, Aadhaar number, bank account details, mobile number linked with Aadhaar.

Submit Jeevan Pramaan through Umang App

  1. The pensioner has to visit the Jeevan Pramaan Portal (https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/).
  2. After installing and launching the software, he/she needs to enter the mobile number and Aadhaar number. Now the “Generate OTP” button has to be clicked after which the pensioner will get a one-time password on his Aadhaar linked mobile number.
  3. Now he has to enter the OTP received and click on “OK” button.
  4. After successful verification, the identity of the pensioner will be authenticated. Now the pensioner will be redirected to the next tab where he/she will have to enter the mandatory details like pensioner’s name, PPO number, type of pension, sanctioning authority, disbursing agency, agency and account number (pension).
  5. Now the pensioner has to select either Re-Employed or Re-Married and tick the check box to give consent.
  6. Now he has to click on the “Scan Finger” option and then complete the Biometric Authentication through Finger / Iris Scanning.
  7. On effective biometric authentication, the digital life certificate will be generated successfully. A Jeevan Pramaan ID will be generated and an SMS will be sent to the registered mobile number of the pensioner for acknowledgment.
  8. The pensioner can print the life certificate by clicking on the “Print” button and the digital life certificate will be automatically transferred or deposited digitally to the PDA.
