The Narendra Modi government has decided to extend the Swatantrata Sainik Samman Yojana for the next four years. For this, the government has also approved an allocation of Rs 3,274.87 crore.

The period of Sainik Samman Yojana (SSSY) for freedom fighters has been extended. In the midst of rising inflation, this decision of the government will give a lot of relief to the freedom fighters.

Central government took a big decision

In fact, taking a big decision, the Narendra Modi government at the Center has decided to extend the Swatantrata Sainik Samman Yojana for the next four years. For this, the government has also approved the allocation of Rs 3,274.87 crore.

Under this scheme, pension, dearness relief (DR) and other financial benefits will also be given to the freedom fighters and their eligible dependents till the financial year 2025-26.

23,566 freedom fighters will benefit

Significantly, under this scheme, a total of 23,566 beneficiaries across the country will be directly benefited.

An official statement issued by the government said, ‘The government has approved the Swatantra Sainik Samman Yojana and its components for the financial year 2021-22 to 2025-26 from March 31, 2021 onwards with a total financial outlay of Rs 3,274.87 crore. has also been approved to continue.

Dearness relief being given since 2016

Let us tell you that the proposal to continue this special scheme SSSY giving benefits to freedom fighters was prepared by the Ministry of Home Affairs under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The amount of pension has also been amended from time to time and dearness relief is also being given from August 15, 2016. The government has given good news to all the beneficiaries by announcing this decision before Holi.
