Now you will get real gold
Actually, the government has taken this step to remove the forgery in gold. By making hallmarking mandatory, people in the country will get freedom from fake and adulterated gold. It is worth noting that earlier it was exempted in three categories, but now all grades of gold have been included in hallmarking.
Let us tell you that BIS hallmarking is the identification of the purity of any gold. Earlier till June 16, 2021, gold hallmarking was on its own. But now it has been made mandatory from June 1. Actually, many times fake gold is sold to the customers. But hallmarked gold is 100% certified gold.
These grades were included
This time the government is starting the second phase of hallmarking, in which hallmarking has been made mandatory and all three grades have been included. That is, this time 20 carats, 23 carats and 24 carats have been included in it. Earlier, last year the government had decided to implement mandatory hallmarking of gold across the country. But it is being implemented in a phased manner, not once. In the first phase, it was implemented in 256 districts of the country on 23 June 2021.
Now you have to pay 35 rupees
Bureau of Indian Standards (Bureau of Indian Standards) had issued a notification for this on April 4, 2022, announcing the implementation of the second phase of hallmarking. Till now hallmarking of gold was mandatory for 6 purity categories 14 karat, 18 karat, 20 karat, 22 karat, 23 karat and 24 karat. Along with this, it has been made mandatory to mention BIS logo, accuracy grade and six digit alphanumerical code in hallmarking. Let us tell you that from June 1, the customer will have to pay Rs 35 on every gold ornament as hallmarking fee.
