There is good news for lakhs of government employees-pensioners of Himachal Pradesh.
The Jai Ram Thakur government of the state has issued an order regarding the arrears of the revised pay scale. According to the order issued by the Additional Chief Secretary Finance Prabodh Saxena on Saturday, in this month lakhs of employees will be paid the arrears of the revised pay scale in cash. Group A, B 50,000 for C personnel and Rs 60,000 for D category personnel.

This arrear will be given from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2021. For this, the Finance Department has issued two separate notifications regarding the arrears of employees and pensioners. Pensioners and family pensioners will get arrears with gratuity up to 20 percent. will be paid. This amount shall also not exceed Rs. 50000. The balance amount will be paid in the second installment. Employees who have opted for 15% increment option will not get arrears but their salary has increased with 15% increment.

In the case of employees covered under the National Pension System, the payment of arrears will be subject to income tax deduction. The state government has taken a loan of 1000 crores in the month of August and 2500 crores in the month of September to pay the arrears. In all, the government has taken a loan of Rs 3500 crore for the payment of arrears within a month.

About 2.25 lakh employees and 1.90 lakh pensioners will get the benefit of this. In this regard, a letter has been issued by the Additional Chief Secretary, Finance to all the Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Registrar General of the High Court and all DCs and SPs. According to the notification issued by the government, the arrears of the revised pay scale will be paid in cash to the government employees after necessary adjustments.
