WhatsApp will soon be rolling out new features, including the message reaction feature and the option to hide last seen from specific contacts, and now the platform has started testing a feature that allows users to access large files and files on its platform.

Allows media to be shared with others. That is, it will be easy to share movies with a friend through WhatsApp. Let us tell you, so far users can only share files up to 100MB in size.

Whatsapp can send files up to 2GB

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will soon start testing the “Media File Size” feature in Argentina, which will allow users to share media files up to 2GB in size.

This feature will initially be limited to beta testers in Argentina and it is not known whether the feature will be rolled out to other regions soon.

Beta testers will get this facility in Argentina

It will soon be available for beta testers in Argentina on both Android and iOS devices. Currently, it is only possible to share files up to 100MB due to company-imposed restrictions.

This new feature is more needed in modern times as media files like videos are increasing in size and it is always a hassle to send something you shot on your device to a friend.

Additionally, growing apps like Telegram have always offered file transfer limits over what WhatsApp offers. Telegram has already introduced the file transfer feature up to 2GB.

WhatsApp recently launched multi-device support feature

WhatsApp recently started rolling out the multi-device support feature for stable builds. Notably, this feature will remove the need for an online connection on your smartphone for chatting platforms that can be used on multiple devices.

First, users must have a stable internet connection on their smartphones to use the messaging service on any other device such as a desktop PC, or laptop. In other words, it has to be linked to your smartphone in order to sync the conversation.
