How To Fill Aadhar Card Correction Form



Aadhar card correction is made very simple and a person can get it done by visiting the official website of the UIDAI and downloading the aadhar card correction form online. Once completed the form can then be sent via post to the address mentioned on the form. One can submit his/her application online and send the required supporting documents via post.

The form contains the following sections that are required to be filled in by the applicant:

  • Field for Correction – In this section one needs to pick and choose the field he/she would like to update or correct. These fields are:
  • Name
  • Gender
  • Date of Birth in DD MM YYYY format
  • Address
  • Email ID

You can choose one or more fields as per your requirements

  • Aadhaar Number – In this section you will be required to enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number mentioned on your card
  • The next section contains fields that are to be filled out in English as well as the local language that appears in your Aadhar letter. These fields are:
  • The name of the resident
  • Gender – Choose from Male, Female or Transgender
  • Address or C/O Details – Select from C/O, D/O, S/O, W/O, HO
  • The Name of the Guardian / Parent / Spouse
  • The Name of the House or Building Apartment
  • The Name of the Street / Road / Lane
  • Name of the Landmark
  • Name of the Area / Locality / Sector
  • Name of the Village / Town / City
  • District Name
  • Post Office
  • State
  • Pin Code
  • Mobile Number – It is compulsory to enter your mobile number in this section
  • E-mail – You can enter your email address if you want to
  • The next section in this form is the Document Details section, where you need to write down the names of the documents you are attaching with your form. You can take a look at the Annexure 1 of the form to find the list of valid documents. There are four spaces to fill in namely:



  • POI (For name correction)
  • Pol (For name change)
  • DOB (For change in date of birth)
  • POA (For change in address)
  • After filling your information correctly, you will be required to sign the form or give a thumbprint stating that the information you have provided is true and accurate as per your knowledge.
  • Below two addresses are given at the bottom of the form. You may choose to send the completed form to any of the addresses mentioned below:
    • UIDAI Post Box No. 10, Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh – 480001, India
    • UIDAI Post Box No. 99, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad – 500034, India

Do’s and Don’ts When Filling up the Correction Form

  • The form must be filled using capital letters only
  • The entire form must be filled, regardless of the fields for updating / correction
  • Providing your mobile number is compulsory for any updates to take place
  • The form can only be sent through post
  • The form needs to be filled in English as well as the local language that was used in the Aadhaar letter as well as at the time of enrolment
  • One needs to ensure that the form is filled only with latest details and not with old or invalid information
  • Full names should not have salutations such as Mr / Dr / Col etc
  • One needs to make sure that the complete address is entered since the updated Aadhaar letter will be sent to that given address
  • When self-attesting the supporting documents to be attached, the name of the resident must be clearly mentioned below the signatures or thumbprints
  • Only the documents that are valid to support the update or correction are to be provided
  • Any incorrect information entered in the form may lead to rejection of the application
