Due to the scorching heat, the demand for electricity has become very high across the country. In such a situation, there has also been a shortage of coal in many states. Because of this, there can be a big problem of power generation in power plants. To deal with this problem, now the Ministry of Railways has decided to cancel 1100 passenger trains for the next 20 days so that coal-laden goods trains can be removed faster.

In April this year, 15 percent more coal has been transported in comparison to April 2021. The demand and consumption of coal has increased significantly as compared to last year.
