Joint Parcel Product: Now you can send parcels sitting at home, special service of Indian Post and Railways will work like this

Indian Railways and India Post have started JPP as a pilot project. Under this, the first service has started from Surat to Varanasi on March 31, 2022.

Joint Parcel Product JPP: Soon you will be able to send parcels from any place in India sitting at home and receive parcels at home. Both India Post and Indian Railways are going to provide a special service together, which has been named as Joint Parcel Product. At present, it has started as a pilot project between Surat and Varanasi.

Both government departments will work together like this

Through this, India Post will provide first mile and last mile connectivity. This means that she will pick up the parcel from your home and deliver it to the designated destination.

On the other hand, if we talk about the railways, it will provide intermediate connectivity, that is, the responsibility of carrying the parcel from one station to another will be the responsibility of the railways.

Established business to business, business to customer contact

This will be the first service of its kind in the country, in which two departments of the government will work together. The parcel will be picked up from home and delivered to the receiver’s home.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave this information in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha on Wednesday. Vaishnav said that JPP aims to establish business to business and business to customer contact by providing complete parcel service.

Started as pilot projects

The Minister said that under this, the service of picking up the parcel from the parcel sender’s premises, booking and then delivering it to the destination will be included.
