Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the government provides domestic LPG connections to the families living below the poverty line.
Under this scheme, free gas connection is given by the Government of India to the APL, BPL and ration card holder women of the country.
So far, 9 crore people have got free LPG connection under this scheme. Indian Oil has given this information on its Twitter handle.

- To take advantage of the scheme, first of all go to the official website pmujjwalayojana.com.
- Here a download form option will appear in front of you. Download it.
- Now fill all the information asked in the form.
- After this the form will have to be submitted at the LPG center.
- Also, submit the related documents there as well.
- While submitting the form, you have to clarify whether you want a 14.2 kg cylinder or a 5 kg cylinder.
- After verifying the documents, you will get LPG connection.

These conditions have to be kept in mind
- The first condition for applying in the Ujjwala scheme is that the applicant should be a woman.
- The applicant woman must be at least 18 years of age. Only then she can take advantage of this scheme.
- The woman should be from BPL family.
- Along with this, it is mandatory for the woman to have a BPL card and a ration card.
- The applicant should not have an LPG connection in the name of any family member.
- A self attested declaration form has to be submitted to prove your address.
