There is good news for LPG consumers. Now there is no need of a smartphone to bring a gas cylinder home and you can also pay without internet through a special feature. Yes, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has introduced ‘Voice’ based digital payment facility for such LPG (LPG) consumers who do not have smartphone or internet facility.
Bharat Petroleum has partnered with Ultracash Technologies Pvt Ltd to offer digital payment facility through voice or voice. Under its partnership, consumers of BharatGas can book and pay for LPG cylinders through UPI 123PAY.
The company said in a statement on Thursday that with the launch of this facility, 40 million consumers of BharatGas in rural areas will benefit. BPCL is the first company in the country to offer this service to its consumers after Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das announced the launch of UPI 123PAY last week.
Through this partnership, BharatGas customers will be able to book a BharatGas cylinder from a mobile without internet by calling a common number 080-4516-3554. They can also make payment through it.
According to news agency PTI, BPCL said that this facility will give the confidence of digital payments to our rural customers, who will now enjoy the same freedom and transparency, which till now was available only to smartphone users.
During the month preceding the launch, over 13,000 BharatGas customers transacted over Rs 1 crore, indicating that a transaction value of Rs 100 crore can be expected in the next one year.
