UIDAI has made the process to make corrections in Aadhar card very convenient. Anyone who wish update their name, address, mobile number or date of birth in Aadhar can do it simply by visiting the UIDAI website. Here in this article, we will be describing about simple way to update your aadhar card details online. Here is a roundup of the step by step process for name change in Aadhaar:

Step 1: Go to UIDAI website

Go to UIDAI website, https://uidai.gov.in/ and select ‘Update Aadhaar Detail Option.’



Step 2: Enter Aadhaar number

Enter your Aadhaar number which is of 12 digit and then type the code provided in the text verification box to generate OTP (One Time Password). Then click on the button ‘Send OTP’ to receive the OTP on your mobile.

Step 3: Enter OTP and move on

OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. You need to enter this OTP in the given box and proceed with the process. Also read about the detailed process to link aadhar to mobile number.



Step 4: Select the option to update Aadhaar details

Once you enter the OTP, you will see the web page which would allow you to update your Aadhaar details. Add updated details and then proceed to the next step.

Step 5: Upload documents

Next step is about uploading the scanned colored copy of your documents. It can be any valid identity proof like PAN card, driving license and other. Once this is done, you have to make a selection of any agency, from where you want your details to be updated.

Once the entire process is completed, you will then receive a confirmation message, along with URN (Update Request Number). Keep this number safe with you. Then your updated Aadhaar card is delivered to your home, within a couple of days.
