Lucknow.  In the midst of the growing transition of Corona, now the UP government has taken a big decision for the employees. The state government has banned the payment of Dearness Allowance (DA) of employees and officers. Apart from this, dearness allowance, relief allowance is not going to be paid in the state. Apart from this, employees and pensioners are not going to get DA. It is getting information that the payment of DA from January 1 to June 21 will be closed. Apart from this, 6 types of allowances have also been discontinued. Including secretariat allowance and police allowance. It is believed that 16 lakh employees of the state will be affected by this decision of the Yogi government.


Madhya Pradesh government also decided
Earlier, the Shivraj government of Madhya Pradesh had also talked about stopping the DA of 10 lakh employees on the lines of the Center. It was told that only a decision can be taken on DA by 2021. Significantly, the BJP government has already banned the payment of five percent DA. Now there is resentment among the employee organizations when it comes to stopping the DA and they have come down on opposing the government on this matter. According to sources,

a lot of money in the government’s coffers in case of non-payment of DA to employees in Madhya Pradesh for one and a half years. According to the information, due to non-payment of DA for such a long time, the government will save about Rs 4050 crore.



Earlier, the central government had banned the increase in dearness allowance for employees and pensioners. The government has proposed not to extend DA from January 1 to December 31, 2020. This decision of the government will affect 54 lakh government employees and 65 lakh pensioners. Explain that last month, the government had announced a 4 percent increase in dearness allowance for central employees. DA was increased from 17 percent to 21 percent. The dearness allowance which has been increasing from 1 January 2020, 1 July 2020 and 1 January 2021 has been stopped. Along with this, this increased dearness allowance will not be available as arrears either.
