Know Step-by-Step Method to Apply for PAN Card
Step 1: First of all, go to the TIN-NSDL website and click on the Services option appearing in the PAN section. Click on this link to go directly to the website.
Now select the option of application type as per your choice. Indian citizens have to select Form 49A, now enter category, title, your name, date of birth and contact details. After that fill the captcha code and click on submit button. Now note down the token number generated and proceed for PAN application.
Step 2: Now you will be redirected to a page where you will get three options, using which you will have to submit the documents for your PAN card application. You can submit documents digitally using e-KYC or e-sign, submit scanned images via e-sign or send documents physically. After choosing the mode of submission of documents, read the guidelines properly and click on the Next button after filling the form.
Step 3: Now in the next step, you have to provide your source of income, address and contact information. Users can keep the information filled so far here by Save Draft.
Step 4: Now you have to enter the details of your AO (Assessing Officer) so that your Tax Jurisdiction can be accessed. You will see your information on the same page itself. After filling the details click on Next.
After submitting the application and making the payment, an OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar number. On entering the OTP, you will get a 15 digit acknowledgment number. After this, this receipt has to be printed and signed and sent to NSDL office within 15 days of applying by courier or post.
The way to apply for PAN card online is quite easy. It is important that you fill all the details properly and complete the required documents. If all the steps are completed properly then you will get the physical copy of your PAN card within 15 days.
