Before the assembly elections, preparations are being made to implement the Provident Fund Scheme 100 percent in all the local bodies of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled Uttar Pradesh. It is being said that a decision will be taken on its mandatory implementation. This thing will be brought to the fore in the UP EPFO board meeting on December 22, 2021, after two years. This is the meeting of the Regional Committee of the 111th Board, which will be held in Lucknow under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary (Labour). According to the information, the agenda has been sent to the board members on behalf of EPFO Commissioner Gautam.

Board member Sukhdev Prasad Mishra told reporters that proposals that are off the agenda can be put up during the meeting. A decision can be taken after discussing them. The benefit of PF scheme will be provided to all the employees . Even if they are working on contract.

It was informed that in this meeting, a decision can be taken on the implementation of PF scheme in Nagar Panchayats, Municipalities, Municipal Corporations, contract employees and contract workers, along with the formulation of policy on court matters. Not only this, decisions related to giving pension documents along with final accounts to all the members will be taken in the Prayas scheme on the day of retirement itself.

The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has updated many of its schemes this year. This includes PF-Aadhaar linking, maintaining two PF accounts for certain employees, increase in insurance benefits under the EDLI scheme and adding nominees to the employee’s PF account.

Since EPFO has made it mandatory to link UAN (Universal Account Number) of PF account with Aadhar card with effect from 30th November 2021, it becomes extremely important to get the benefit of PF. If no one does this, then the said employee will stop getting the employer’s contribution.
