Platform Ticket Prices: There is important news for railway passengers. Railways has taken a big decision due to the actions of some passengers. Actually, at many stations in this season, passengers unnecessarily do alarm chain pulling (ACP).

To control this movement of passengers, the Central Railway Zone has increased the price of platform tickets at many stations in Mumbai. These new rates have come into effect from May 9.

Platform ticket price hiked

Railways has increased the price of platform tickets from Rs 10 to Rs 50 at these selected stations. That is, now the passengers here will have to pay 5 times more for the platform ticket. But there is also a relief that these prices will be applicable from May 9 to May 23 only. These stations include Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Thane, Kalyan and Panvel stations.

Chain pulling is happening more at these stations

Railways says that these chain pulling are being done without any valid reason. Actually, passengers do some pulling to come late or get down and out of the station. The Central Railway has shown strictness about such incidents. From April 1 to April 30, 332 cases of chain pulling have been registered in the Mumbai division.

But you will be surprised to know that out of these only 53 cases are there for which there is a proper reason, while 279 cases have been done due to non-essential reasons. Railways has also collected a fine of Rs 94,000 from the culprits for this.

To deal with this situation, the railways has increased the price of platform tickets by selecting these stations for some time.
