Presently, distribution of 5 kg rice per unit will continue under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Anna Kalyan Yojana. Recently, the central government had talked about extending this scheme by three months to distribute free ration till September. According to this, ration card holders will not get the benefit of this scheme from October.
