Samsung Galaxy M56 5G will be launched in India soon as a successor to the Galaxy M55 5G, which was launched in India in April last year. The company has claimed that this upcoming smartphone will be up to 30 percent thinner than the previous model. Earlier this phone was spotted on a popular benchmarking site which revealed its major features.

The company has also teased the design of the phone and revealed the major specifications of the upcoming smartphone. The phone is claimed to be 30 percent thinner than the previous handset. According to an X post by the company, the Samsung Galaxy M56 5G will be unveiled in India on April 17 at 12 noon. The handset is claimed to be 30 percent thinner than the Galaxy M55 5G. Its thickness will be 7.2 mm. The thickness of the older model is 7.8 mm and it weighs 180 grams. The upcoming handset is teased to have the same weight. The microsite made live on Amazon for the handset confirms that the Samsung Galaxy M56 5G will be available for purchase in the country through the e-commerce site. It is being claimed that this is the thinnest phone in its segment. The fine print on the promotional poster suggests that the phone will be priced between Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000.

It is worth noting that the 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB options of the Galaxy M55 5G were priced at Rs 26,999, Rs 29,999 and Rs 32,999 respectively.

The Samsung Galaxy M56 5G will come with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus + protection, which is said to protect against drops up to 2 meters and offer 4 times better scratch resistance than the older model. It will have a sAMOLED + screen with Vision Booster and is claimed to have 36 percent thinner bezels and 33 percent brighter display than the older handset.

The Samsung Galaxy M56 5G has a new rear camera module design. While the Galaxy M55 5G had three separate circular slots to house the rear cameras, the upcoming handset will have a vertical, slightly raised pill-shaped island. Inside this island, there is a small pill-shaped unit to house the main and ultra-wide cameras, while the macro shooter is housed in a circular slot below it.

The newly designed rear camera module of the Samsung Galaxy M56 5G includes a 50-megapixel OIS-supported main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. It has been teased to support better night photography. The 12-megapixel front camera sensor will come with HDR support. The handset will be equipped with features like AI imaging tools such as object eraser and image clipper.

The Samsung Galaxy M56 5G recently appeared on Geekbench with model number SM-M566B. The listing revealed that the handset will be powered by the Exynos 1480 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM. The phone is expected to run on Android 15 with One UI skin.
