To Take on Jio, Airtel Now Offers 1.5GB Data Per Day With Rs. 349 Plan

With Jio still trying to make a stable base of customers after entering the telecom market, Airtel is offering more data at the same price of its Rs. 349 plan. It was launched soon after it offered customers 100% cashback on recharging with the Rs. 349 plan for a limited period of time. Along with giving users more data to give a touch competition to Jio, Airtel has come up with a new plan that offers a total of 70GB bundled data and free outgoing roaming calls. Only prepaid users can avail this plan of Airtel at the moment, and has validity of 70 days.

Available to select Airtel users via the myAirtel app, the new Rs. 448 plan comes with 1GB of 3G/ 4GB data per day, free outgoing calls on roaming, unlimited local and STD calls and 3,000 bundled SMSes. The Rs. 399 Jio plan is the direct competitor  of this plan, which offers the same benefits, in addition with access to Jio apps. The Rs. 459 Jio pack, on the other hand, has the same set of benefits but validity of the plan is for 84 days.

Vodafone another telecom giant, also recently launched a plan with 84-day validity and same benefits at Rs. 496, while Idea has a new plan with the same details at Rs. 498. The two companies are undergoing a merger that will dethrone Airtel as the biggest telecom operator in India.

As mentioned above, the Rs. 349 plan will now offer 1.5GB data per day, in addition with unlimited local and STD calls and 3,000 Free SMSes. The validity of the plan, however, remains the same at 28 days. On the Airtel network, the so-called unlimited calls are limited at 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week. Calls made beyond this limit will be charged at 10p per minute for Airtel-to-Airtel calls, and 30p per minute for calls to other networks.

    • Airtel is cheating customers about equipment jio plan. I tried to get this plan but they say it is only for select few coustomers. It is put right cheating.

  1. Airtel services are better than other companies. Airtel performance is very good. No other company is capable to compete. Airtel is always on the top.

  2. That is not correct. The validity is only for 28 days and not 70 days. The plan with 349 for 28 days is the costliest among all the service providers. Airtel also wrongly advises that 399 will give 84GB @ the rate of 1 gb data per day and voice calls free for 84 days for customers with 4G hand set. When you for recharging they say it is not for all numbers and they ask us to check our eligibility by dialing *121*51# and invariably this offer is not there for your number. The problem with our companies is that they lack transparency.

    • You are right. There is no transparency in publicity..Simply side tracking customers by false offers to overcome Reliance Jio plan Rs399/-.They are reducing plan period after recharge. We always beware of hidden cluses and conditions well before recharge.TRAI should take control over this offers.

  3. I wish to opt for this new scheme of 1.5GB per day , as i having pre paid airtel connection please let me know contact person with cell no

  4. hi…..dear time….

    Thanks… For regrating plans…!

    For now…. You would try to give some benifits… To the customers… That thing is good… But ur network… Is not stable…..at a particular place….. And u gauys…dont have a true…. 4g network…….in any city…..

But u would never beat……..jio subscription plans… Forever ..and ever….

  5. Airtel’s offer of unlimited free calls does not include calls made to call centres – it’s own and other call centres. When tried I got recorded mags saying “not enough balance”…. customer care executive at a nearby airtel office then confirmed, on personal visit, that the so called unlimited free calls does not include calls to customer care……..in contrast any call and ever call within India is free on Jio

  6. Rs. 349/- for 28 days is too costly particularly with capping of 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week for free local and roaming calls. 30 p per minute to other network compared to 10p per minute on same airtel network is also costly.
I had been an airtel customer but had to discard it’s service due to poor customer service based on my own experience

  8. No wonder, how many lucrative offers been offered by the telecom operators especially VODAFONE, the data pack/Internet connectivity would remain at slow pace. Whether it’s 2G or 3G or 4G data Internet pack for many of them, the connectivity and speed would always remain an issue.

  9. I suggest Airtel informs the customers thro Sms or a call a few days before the expiry of their prepaid plan.I had 399 plan with around 84days validity(I am not sure the exact period of validity offered to me then !!) and today after knowing from airtel customer care that my prepaid plan 0f Rs 399 expired on 14th NOV,,when I went to airtel express showroom
to day in Velachery, chennai-42, i was told that i have now only 449 rs offer with 1 GB per day data offer besides free calls !! I cant understand the basis of this selective offers even to senior citizen customers of Air tel mobile who stayed with them over a long time!!! .p.srinivasulu ( 044 42184212)

  10. Receipt of recharge of data pack of Rs 349 shows validity of 28 days whereas it is mentioned 70 days in your intimation.
